DSL Speed - Optimize your Internet connection speed
It's always frustrating having to wait five minutes or more to finish downloading a 10 Mb file. In situations like this, any tweak, any adjustment or any nudge to your connection can be helpful. DSL Speed can provide an extra edge to boost your connection's speed. No advanced knowledge about how the Internet works is required. All you need to know is how to click a button.
The download is just one and a half Mb large, so even a slower connection can cope with it. Installing the software is a straightforward process which should take a few seconds.
There's no need to make any Internet related configurations when using DSL Speed. If the interface would be any simpler, you'd be left with just a $25 help file. There are two optimization categories, accessible via hyperlinks, found on the left side of the main window. The normal optimization feature involves clicking on its hyperlink and then the Process button. You can't miss it because, apart from it, you'll only find some general info regarding the program and two advertisement orientated buttons.
The Advance Optimize hyperlink will bring up some extra options, but nothing too advanced. You can find another Process button here, but first you must do an online best MTU verification. This involves selecting a verify site from a drop menu. By default, you'll only find some IPs and a few sites like Google or Yahoo. You can add your own verify sites by clicking the Edit button next to this menu. After hitting the Start button, you will have to wait a few seconds for the verification process. When it's done, a chart with the best MTUs will be displayed on the lower part of the window. Now you can click that Process button to optimize your connection speed. Unfortunately, this feature is unavailable in the trial version. That's all you can do in DSL Speed. Other hyperlinks from the left side column will access basic things like a help file or an online speed test.
Pros:
DSL speed won't have you navigate through complex menus or anything of the sorts. You can access its features with as little effort as possible. Another good thing is that the trial version still allows you to perform a normal optimization.
Cons:
The interface is kind of big for a software with only two features that will interest you.
If you're not satisfied with your Internet connection speed, try using DSL Speed. With a few clicks you can give it noticeable boost.
